We’re your local Ace Hardware store, serving our community with name brand products, reliable services, and expert advice with a personal touch.

Story

When we set out to open a hardware store, we wanted to do so in a way that combined our love for this community with the reliability of name brand products. Since we opened, we’ve been doing that and adding a personal touch to everything along the way. People come to our shop in North Mandarin when they need advice on a project. They walk through our aisles because they know we’ll have what they’re looking for: power tools, garden supplies -- you name it. They rely on us to exchange their propane tanks, cut their glass, and provide them with a range of other dependable services. They choose Thompson Ace Hardware because we’re a local shop with a lot to offer, one that can’t wait to meet you and greet you by name.

Extremely friendly staff! From the minute you walk in the door you're greeted by the cashiers. They ask what you're looking for or what you need help with. They paid someone in that department to either come up and help you or to meet you as you're walking down the aisle. They put "Service" back into customer service! Just went here and was going to buy some adirondack pool chairs, and asked where the ladyes room was first and the man told me "technically we don't have a ladies room" and walked away. What does that even mean? Terrible. I just left and I will never be back to spend my money here.

Yesterday was my first time stopping in. I was looking for something to control rust on my mint plants. Larry was very knowlegable to the topic as well as all of the other pest control products they have available. Not only does he know about them but he uses them at home. Bring a first time gardener It was really nice to have someone to talk to that could give educated advice about how to fix my problems. This will be my go to place for garden help and supplies. I recommend if you need some help with your outside projects you talk to Larry!

While staying with family for the holidays, my daughter needed a lent trap for her dryer. I called Thompson's Ace Hardware and spoke with Jacqueline Thompson (who was very busy) and after asking a few questions over the phone gave me her number to text questions and answers. We were able to order and pay for it over the phone. Very friendly and courteous top notch customer service. I recommend to everone to visit this family business.

I will never spend a dime here again and I don't recommend you should either. 1. The owner is INCREDIBLY shady. 2. The employees are pushed to sell you more than you need so that you spend more. 3. If you special order something, you're looking at a 50%+ chance it'll be late. 4. You can find everything there cheaper at nearby stores.
