My preferred location to get gas as I head east on Tampa Rd. It’s very easy to get in and out and it usually is not super crowded.

Clean Gas Station with $.03/ga Rewards Program

We moved to Florida about 9 months ago.  I am a creature of habit and prefer to fill my vehicles up with the same fuel all the time.  I found Thornton's Gas Stations to be clean, modern and affordable.  They are usually a little cheaper than the local competitors.

Tip - join the rewards program.  You only have to enter your telephone number at the pump to save $.03/ga every time you fill up.  Its easy and lowers the gas price even further.

There are other locations throughout the Tampa Bay area and I have visited several and found them to be consistent.  I always pay at the pump and have only went in the store once or twice.

OMG, so just 1 day before Irma hit, I was scrambling to get a new tire from Walmart for my "backup" car. It's an old 90s car that I hadn't driven in over a year, but it otherwise ran fine. I needed a new tire so I could use the car as a vehicle to put our pets in if we had to evacuate. At this point, the storm was going to do anything and I wanted to be ready to leave if needed. Just as I was approaching Thornton's going northbound on Forest Lakes, my clutch pedal dropped to the floor and wouldn't shift. I was freaking out because this had never happened before. Talk about worst possible timing. I began pushing it into the Thornton's side parking lot with the help of an amazingly good Samaritan who jumped out of his truck in traffic and helped push my car. I would thank him 100 more times if I knew who he was. If you are reading this...you are a Saint! You have no idea how much that meant at that moment. With all the stress from the storm and everything...wow...thank you man, so much.
At this point, my family and I were already scrambling at home to pack the house and prepare ourselves for the storm. I had no choice but to leave my car. We ended up riding out the storm in my Mom's apartment complex and we were very fortunate for how Irma turned out in our area. We went a couple days without power, our gazebo was destroyed, and we had a lot of cleaning up to do. My car wasn't priority #1 and I was sure it was towed and gone by then. Yesterday I went by to see if it was there and it actually was still parked! I couldn't believe it. So I made arrangements today to tow it back to my house and everything worked out. The car spent nearly a week at Thornton's and they had every right to tow my car but they didn't. I'm not sure if any towing companies were open due to the storm, but that's besides the point. I was so happy to see my car still there because it would have cost far more than $75 to retrieve it from an impound lot. Whether Thornton's even knew or not, I am so grateful that they showed mercy on my car and I, and allowed my car to sit while the dust settled from the storm. Now it's back in my driveway and I can figure out what to do with her from here. Thanks again Thornton's! You all are awesome!!!

Slowest E85 pumps in town.  If you use E85, don't come here unless you have plenty of time.  These pumps take 15-20 minutes to fill a 16 gallon tank.   It's been this way for months.
