Story

Thunder Island Brewing Company is an adventure-based small batch brewery that is handcrafting creative and innovative beers in the Pacific Northwest. Based out of the city of Cascades Locks, forty-three miles east of Portland, Thunder Island Brewing makes original beers inspired by a love for outdoor adventures, with a nod to local history and with a respect for all that the scenic Columbia River Gorge has to offer.

We visited many breweries over the course of the trip and this was towards the end, so perhaps we were a little tired of beer....... but based on the reviews I was expecting to like it more than we did. Nothing was bad, just ok. We tried the taster tray, and nothing really jumped out at us as something we would want to try again. We didn't have food so I can't comment on that. It was a rainy Feb day so we didn't get to enjoy the outside area. I think we will return again on a nice sunny day, with an open mind and give it a shot again.

Came here tonight after doing a wine tour with Columbia wine tours. The rock creek ipa is very fresh and cold great after a day of wine tasting in the gorge. Friendly staff. Clean tables and cozy.

Great beer, delicious food, and gorgeous views. The Thai chicken sandwich was crazy good. I plan on stealing the idea.

Beautiful space, the beer is good- and the food is pretty good too! They have four of their own taps, and four visiting taps. They do either 4 or 8 brew flights, if you'd like. Good service, and I can't recommend the gorgeous view enough.

Some of the best wings I've ever had, and I'm from Buffalo, NY. #wingsnob ...try the habanero sauce!!
