Each time I walk by Tide Pools, I want to stop where I am going, turn around, and see what new gifts they have for my friends. When you are traveling from Las Vegas into Carpinteria, boutique gift shops like Tide Pools literally define Carpinteria's beach side community on the Pacific. The shells, glass, art, jewelry, all sea, all ocean, reminds me of the Pablo Neruda poem, "Ode to the Sea" which has lines that combine my memories of Tide Pools with Carpinteria while writing from the Nevada dry town of Las Vegas with no sea. Pablo's poem sings, "My name is sea. It slaps the rocks. And when they aren't convinced, Strokes them. And soaks them. And smothers them with kisses. " Carpinteria's beach is gorgeous, but if you want to carry that majestic idea when you return home, shop for a treasure at Tide Pools on Linden, find a piece of the beach to bring back home from you in their boutique, and remember to return to the beach with the best shells, coffee houses and restaurants serving up Sunday brunch. Tide Pools should be open by the time you finish your eggs benedict at Sly's Restaurant or Esau's Cafe.

My first time in Carpenteria and I was lucky enough to find this store. My sister and I just loved the merchandise and the owner was delightful as well as knowledgeable about all things in her store. Amazing items for fantastic prices. We enjoyed it so much that we went back again the next day to buy more.  I have my item proudly displayed in my bathroom and have gotten compliments.  
I love this store and everyone will walk away with having had a wonderful experience! Thanks...I will be back.
