Had a great time at 'Time Out Tavern' First walking in, the energy is great and welcoming. Almost every person in there acknowledged our presence right away and during our seating. GABRIEL was our waiter and he did an amazing job with customer service, mannerisms, professionalism, and product knowledge on what's on the menus. SHAWN who also assisted with any of our needs in case Gabriel was busy. AUSTIN which was the cook did a great job with presentation, taste and delivery of the food. A really good thing was he took time to ask us how we wanted our food before making it. And the best part was their AMAZING SWEET TEA! FOR A FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE I HOPE EVERY OTHER VISIT WILL BE THE SAME. THANK YOU STAFF OF THE 'TIME OUT TAVERN'
After living here for over 20 + years I’ve explored the HKA area. This local bar has always been something I have enjoyed visiting. From the wait staff, to my family and friends that frequent the tournaments/steak nights/trivia/karaoke you can’t go wrong here. Great drink specials, the food better than the rest of the fast food joints. A lot of friendly locals and good family times will be had here I’ll continue to come here for many more years to come.
Casey is awesome. Super personable and attentive. Glasses were very clean and service quality was very equally shared among all his customers. The other servers were also clearly loved. Definitely worth a trip or million back
Have you ever been to a place you remembered being amazing and it had just fallen apart completely? Time Out Tavern is a shadow of its former self. They have closed their kitchen for remodeling for an unspecified amount of time, and they are currently serving what can best be described as cafeteria food. My friend ordered pork chops, and she got two slabs of something that was just barely identifiable - two quarter-inch-thick pieces of meat so overcooked they turned up at the edges served with gelatinous brown gravy and insipid green beans that were losing their color from being cooked too long. The only thing edible was her salad. The other options weren’t much better… meatloaf, a rubbery grilled chicken entree, and some other things I can’t remember. There is nothing on the menu for a vegetarian. I’m an omnivore, but one of my friends is. On some nights they apparently have food trucks, but that wasn’t an option tonight. Their menu said they allowed Domino’s Pizza delivery, but after waiting almost an hour for pizza to be delivered for our whole table, the manager swooped in and swiftly told me we weren’t allowed to have it. It wasn’t a gentle correction. I would have understood, “Hey guys. I’m sorry, but we don’t allow Domino’s Pizza to be delivered until 10 p.m. I know it says that you can have Domino’s on our menu, but if you really read it, it’s not allowed until after 10 p.m.” The way they have it listed on the temporary menu is confusing. We had six professionals at our table, and we were all shocked. We were even more shocked at how he corrected me. He said, “You can’t have that. Domino’s isn’t allowed until 10.” He was curt bordering on rude. Honestly, we would have left and spent money on drinks elsewhere, but we chose to support a business we had loved during their transition and settle for Domino’s. At least they’d make their money on drinks. I can’t imagine they’re making much money on food right now, especially with the meager options. When I say there is nothing appealing on their menu, I mean nothing. Iceberg lettuce salads with overcooked meat. Macaroni and cheese made with what seemed like store-bought elbow pasta swimming in watery cheese sauce that resembled soup more than macaroni and cheese. The bright spot was our waitress. She was awesome and on-the-spot with drinks. I usually don’t order margaritas at dive bars. Mine was decent… about par for the course for what I’d expect at a dive bar. By the way, I don’t say dive bar disparagingly. I LOVE a good dive bar. The world needs more dives! We used to love their appetizers. Sure, it was a fried food bonanza and nothing spectacular, but they were perfect for an after-work happy hour. They were all solid… fried pickles, onion rings, cheese sticks, mushrooms plus potato skins and deviled eggs. Oh how the mighty have fallen. They’ve lost six customers tonight. That won’t make or break them. I have no delusions about that. I guess I’m writing this because i’m sad. I miss what they used to be. And poor management just poured salt on the wound. I prefer salt on the rim of my margarita or shot of tequila, which I’ll be buying somewhere else from now on.
Always have a nice time at "Time out" get in trouble just to get sent here ....!!! Update...great as ever!!! The southwest Cobb salad was terrific. The sloppy Joe was extremely dry and need way more sauce.
This is my favorite bar and I’m so happy for them expanding their kitchen. Even though the kitchen is closed they put out a great spread of grilled meat chicken, pork chops, meat loaf and Salisbury steak with all the sides you could ask for fresh salad, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes with gravy and cavatappi macaroni with white cheese. Wow…for having a kitchen that is closed they really out did themselves. On top of that the staff is amazing. They know their regulars and treat the newbies like family. I can’t think of a better place to spend time after work. I read Kelly Kindred’s review…she must have been having a bad day and her life must be so horrible to talk negatively about a place she obviously doesn’t know. Ask for the Casey Margarita…you won’t be disappointed.
Fun environment, with several games to play. The golf game tested one's skills for sure! All in all a nice local hang-out!
Great daily specials & attentive service, rare with today's inflation. Went in early afternoon and not crowded or noisy, vey friendly patrons. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.
What a fun place. Great to watch your favorite games. Food was good and service was outstanding. Owner walked around and talked to everyone.
Nice friendly staff . Clean restroom. Good vibes and sports galore not to mention the drinks were great. Staff very attentive
