Here at Tipton's, we pride ourselves on the use of the finest ingredients to cook our award winning BBQ. We only use the whole shoulder, the picnic gives you the most flavor. Our chicken is raised here in North Carolina and our use of select Hickory and Fruit wood give our barbecue its unique flavor. In the true Lexington Style, we serve our shoulder simply, with our secret "Dip" poured over it. Add one of our 3 table sauces to it if you wish: "Sweet and Smokey", "Smoke and Spice", or our eastern style vinegar sauce: "Tip's Vin"

The food was good...the server was very accommodating and friendly with a smile!
One suggestion....as you come in the door there are two VERY delapidated horrible looking couches and a wore out BBQ chop block with two chopping knives........wood dust dust dust everywhere....horrible!  Get RID of them!
They are definitely an EYE SORE!
I started to turn around and walk back out the door, after seeing these 3 objects...making a terrible  reflection of the restaurant....
....but my friends were persistent to stay....

We eat here often when we are in Wilkesboro.  Best BBQ I  have ever eaten.  Being from Texas I am not the authority on pork, but dang if it is not good.  The brisket is just like back home.  Smokey with lots of bark.  Ribs are probably the best I have ever eaten.  Wow.  Place has a good feel and staff was very very attentive.  Check it out.

I've had a lot of barbecue over tbe years, from different restaurants in NC and other areas. Many of them are pretty good, but I usually still end up adding some sauce to the meat.  Tiptons looks and feels like it could be another mediocre place among so many others.  After trying it for the first time today, I can honestly say the texture and the FLAVOR of the chopped pork barbecue is as good as I've ever had served at a restaurant.  I've had even better from people who smoke meat in their own cookers for competitions, but they aren't an option whenever you get a hankering for good ol' smoked hog.  So good in fact, that I didn't even try any of their sauces.  The meat was perfect as prepared.

Tried to eat here yesterday. Service was horrible. Told the host we had party of 4. Just kind of stared at us making us feel uncomfortable. We were beginning to wonder if we were supposed to seat ourselves. We finally did get seated and got to look at menus. Sign on the front of building says "pizza, burgers and more". Weird we couldn't find pizza on the menu after looking for 10 minutes. It's at this point we realize that nobody has come to get our drink order. We waited around for another 5 minutes to see if anybody was coming. We finally just left. Walking back up to the front we saw 3 or 4 of the staff just talking and laughing it up at the front. We were disappointed because this was our first time at the place and it smelled really good inside. Staff and service 0 stars!

Beef Briskit was off the chart.  Tender moist.  Sauce was not overpowering.  This is the best Bbq place in Wilkesboro.   Very prompt friendly staff.
