A National Leader Among Rehabilitation Hospitals

TIRR Memorial Hermann (The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research), is recognized among the leading rehabilitation hospitals in the country. For 23 consecutive years, U.S.News & World Report has named TIRR Memorial Hermann (TIRR MH) to the list of “America’s Best Hospitals.” In 2015, we are recognized as No. 2 on the list of top rehabilitation hospitals. TIRR MH changes lives by improving outcomes, offering hope and maximizing independence for people affected by disabling injury or illness.

TIRR MH serves as a model for interdisciplinary rehabilitation services, patient care, education and research. TIRR MH is designated as a Model System by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) for its traumatic brain injury program and provides follow-up data for the NIDRR spinal cord injury program.

Programs at TIRR MH include: Spinal Cord Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Amputation and Specialty Rehabilitation, which includes Multiple Trauma and Neuromuscular Disorders. Our 119-bed inpatient hospital is located in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center and also houses a Physician and Specialty Clinic, which is a physician-based clinic designed to meet the various needs of individuals who require initial or continuing rehabilitation care with a physician. TIRR MH Adult and Pediatric Outpatient Rehabilitation, at the Kirby Glen Center provides: Day Rehabilitation, Outpatient Rehabilitation and Challenge, a community reintegration program for brain injury and stroke survivors.
