Very disappointed at the new store. You can see that Tom Lee Music decided to target the amateurs. The old store had some real quality gear for professional musician now, it's mostly garbage. Where is all the good gear? The instrument selection is very poor and the service is awful. The vibe of the old place was way better...

I am coming to Canada as a student and decided to visit quite a, I think, famous musical instrument store in the Downtown Vancouver. I first enter the shop to look for guitar and the the staff is quite friendly. Then, I saw the second room with stage piano in it so I decided to go and have a look since I also play piano and would like to buy a small one which would fit in my room. One of a lovely thin, with hair guy wearing glass came to me and he helped me a lot about the different types of piano. But then, when I told this staff that I am going to study in Vancouver Island and whether if the shop do send the instrument through the mail directly to home or not. Suddenly a bald guy with glass storm into the conversation and angrily SHOUTED!!!!!!!!! at me that the shop do not send the instrument directly to the house and the best way is that I need to check whether Victoria has any shop MY SELF!!!!!. Not only that but he also said that he doesn't have time to talk with me and are trying to make me EMBARRESSED to the other customers! That seriously shocked me. I was already on a peak of buying both guitars and piano with this shop and after hearing this bald guy, I said good buy to the good staff and walk away very disappoited. Literally, you should fire that baldy guy who works in the stage piano section. I will never walk into your shop ever again. Thanks

So so bad. All the guitar shop staff stood around like they were too cool to talk to a customer. Stick with Long &McQuade and you won't be disappointed

I just read BOOK-Settanan Plangsiri and I think that guy might be the same guy that embarrassed me in the beginning of the year. I was buying a electric piano and I almost gave up doing so. When I left the shop I felt I shouldn't have bought ... Today I am enjoying the piano but it is really bad that somehow when I think of the experience buying that piano, I will always remember the guy that was rude to me. The shop is cool. As for the other people that works in the store, they seem cool.

Absolutely terrible service for getting a rental. They never call back, have nonsensical rules, and don't actually order what you ask them to order. If you are renting an instrument go to Long & McQuade do NOT waste your time at Tommy Lee Music in downtown Vancouver.
