New retailer Totem Brand is now open at 535 South Street. It features a wide selection of U.S.-manufactured brands such as Red Wing, Wolverine, Danner, 3sixteen, Rogue Territory, Filson, and Pointer Brand. Focusing mainly on menswear, Totem Brand also carries a selection of apothecary, natural candles, soaps and incense from Malin + Goetz, Baxter of California, and Sydney Hale Co.
A recent study by Boston Consulting Group showed that more than 80% of American consumers would choose products labeled “Made in USA” over those labeled “Made in China”. With a majority of clothing and shoe retailers manufacturing their products in China, Totem Brand aims to increase the visibility and availability of American-made premium brands to the fashion-savvy Philadelphian.
