Official Town of Erie, Colorado Facebook Site
Erie is situated in the heart of Colorado's major economic and population centers. (25 min. to Denver/15 min. to Boulder)
The reasons people call Colorado home often include a passion for the outdoors, a diverse & dynamic community and the contemporary pace to life that appeals to all ages. The Town of Erie offers the best of all of these. With our majestic mountain views and progressive civic vision, we provide a genuine small-town feel with all the reassuring qualities that implies – a sense of community, neighbors who care, and a contemporary town with modern amenities and comforting closeness.
Not surprisingly growing families, young professionals, outdoor enthusiasts, and active adults are drawn to our panoramic location, scenic trails, championship golf course, recreational activities and more than 340 days of sunshine per year. Of course many are also attracted by our premier educational facilities which include two new schools, with a third new elementary school slated to open its doors in the fall of 2011. Factor in our award-winning 63,000 sq. ft. Erie Community Center and 20,000 sq. ft. Erie Community Library; and our quality of life just keeps getting better and better.
In Erie, we have a relentless commitment to maintaining our Town as a great place to live, work and play. That’s why sustainability is more than an option here, it’s part of daily life. As a result, we’re well on our way to becoming a model for eco-friendly civic development with environmentally sound “green” practices that include a town-wide interconnecting trail system, a water-saving irrigation system in our public parks and a thermal solar system installation at the Erie Community Center. Our latest initiatives now enriching our town’s culture while protecting the environment includes the mega 41-acre “green” Erie Community Park which opened in April of 2010.
