The Tradewinds was disappointing for a 3-star hotel. The showerhead was terrible, the room was uncomfortably warm, there was no selection of snacks for purchase in-room, the pillows were so uncomfortable (like sacks of hard rags), and the complimentary "continental breakfast" was like that of a cheap motel. Not what I expected for nearly $400 per night. 4 stars for the lovely hotel grounds and free cookies and complimentary chocolate strawberries.

Nice room, view not spectacular but we were in the most basic room. Good Continental breakfast. Very nice and helpful staff. Lovely garden. Close to Ocean Ave so it's easy to walk to most restaurants, shops, and wine tasting rooms. Would stay again but would book well ahead of time to get a room with a better view.

We loved everything about this property. Great location, clean room, well decorated, and a fantastic breakfast. What really made the stay though was the staff. Teresa at the front desk helped us out every step of the way from in town suggestions to great hiking trails in Big Sur. Looking forward to our next stay!

Great find in Carmel. Very South Pacific feel to it. Clean and comfortable. Beds are great and breakfast more than adequate. Highly recommended!

My sisters and I decided to meet in Carmel for the weekend. We picked the Tradewinds Carmel. This hotel did not disappoint. The staff from the hotel, bell service, and housekeeping were outstanding. The property is beautiful and tranquil. Our room was spacious and clean. I highly recommend staying here. We will be back for sure
