Great place to stop and rest. The parking lot is large and easy to get in and out off. There is places to eat here but if you don't like what's here there is a few other options at walking distance. This rest area is intended for the northbound traffic from the freeway and just west of this location is another rest area intended for the southbound traffic.

I stopped at this TA for gas about midway during an 8 hour trip. I went in to pay cash to fill up. I stood in line patiently while one cashier was opened for several people. My interaction was pleasant enough as I paid for my gas, and a few other items. I stated that I would probably be returning for change, because I needed to fill up. I went out, pumped my gas, and returned to get my $2 in change. When I came into the store, another cashier had opened a register on the other end of the row of registers. There were fewer people in the line furthest from the door, so that's where I went. Right before I walked up to the register, a man called out from the other line that there was only one line. Then, the cashier, who had seen me standing and waiting, while saying nothing about one line feeding the two registers said very rudely, "You trying to jump my line?" I said no, and that I had stood in line to get to her register, just like I'd stood in line to pay for my gas initially. She said, "Nope, all these folks have been waiting." Then would not acknowledge me any longer. By this time, the line at the first register had grown much longer, and they were also closing that register. I began to ask if I could get my $2, so I could leave, and the cashier from the first register, with whom I'd paid for my gas, cut me off and said, "I can't help you, I'm closing my register, you'll have to wait in line like everyone else." I had been very polite and patient up until this point, when I said, I'd rather they keep my $2 than stand in line again. She replied with a curt, "Fine.", and I walked out. I walked to my car, took a few breaths, then walked back in, and thankfully, there was what appeared to be a manager, or supervisor, still closing up the first register. I asked if I could either get my change, or if she could turn the pump back on, so I could put the remainder in my gas can. At that point, and with few words, she did refund my $2. I am naturally a quiet, polite person. I have never been dealt with so rudely in a gas station before in my life. First of all, there was no indication that both lines fed into two registers when I returned for my change, especially considering that there were people waiting in line directly in front of that register. And secondly, the cashier could've let me know what was going on while she saw me patiently waiting in line. Last of all, there was absolutely no reason for her to speak to me like she did, loudly, and in front of everyone, "You trying to jump my line?" I will never stop at this station again, and I hope employees are trained to treat customers with a modicum of respect and dignity in the future.

Nice bathrooms. Ridiculous prices at the Taco Bell (2.59 for a bean burrito). Have to ask for an itemized receipt. Good parking.

I was the very 1st hostess in the Country Pride restaurant when it opened in 1984. What a fun job, one of the best Jobs I've had, lots of fun meeting new people and helping others. Great place, fun environment, good food.
