I had a job next door and said let me get a quick bite.I ordered a Margherita pizza and when I opened the box I saw this. Keep in mind, it had no basil on the pizza when I opened the box. I went back inside and after minutes of trying to convince me that this is how they make their Margherita pizzas he asks, “what is it, you want some basil on top?”, and then proceeded to lay 4 decrepit basil leaves on top of this plain pie. I explained to him I had rather he admitted the cook made a mistake than try and convince me that a Margherita pie was made like this. Didn’t even offer to remake it. As my irritation grew, I decided to walk out. You guys need to do better. One star.
Food was okay and we got our orders fairly quickly. I would say the server gave a non-friendly vibe with our group but then we saw how he interacted with another patron and we were like oh I guess he doesn't like us lol. The chicken on my penne was a little dry. Pizza was freshly made. Overall service was just mediocre, nothing special to make us come back.
Possibly the worst meatball sandwich i ever had! For a pizzeria with a brick oven, at the very least, you’d expect fresh bread. Nope! The bread was old and mushy soaked with water. It was like a sponge. I could not eat it! Meatballs were stale. I cant believe they serve food like that to customers.
This is a solid little restaurant for good fire grilled pizza in Manhattan!! The smaller pizza is 6 slices and the larger one is 8 slices. Crust is thin and crunchy. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a Hawaiian. Both were delicious! Air conditioned inside. Bathrooms available. No changing station for little ones - just FYI. Great find! Kid-friendliness: They didn’t have cups with lids or a changing station, but they have high stairs and were kind to our children: Wheelchair accessibility: Standard doorway entry, but tables are close together. I’m sure they could accommodate. Bathrooms are small and not ADA compliant/accessible.
12/16/2023: We had a relaxing dinner in the restaurant. The food was delicious. My daughter and stepmother loved the spaghetti and meatballs. Loved the Gamberi Franchese. The Merlot was delicious. It was a great dinner to send a day spent walking nine miles and visiting the 9/11 Memorial.Food: 5/5
I selected this restaurant by chance while downtown on jury duty and was pleasantly surprised. It has a warm atmosphere, the food and price selection on the menu is not only appealing but reasonably priced. The wait staff especially Vincent was attentive, efficient and extremely pleasant. I ordered the Margherita pizza which was outstanding. I will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant.
Food came SO quickly, piping hot! I made a lot of “substitutions” and they got everything right!Food: 5/5
Very good food here and isn't outrageously expensive like other places. Has reasonable lunch specials and the wood fired pizzas are great. Nice char, thin crust. I would suggest that you forgo the plain margherita pizza for one with more toppings as their toppings are very good. A great spot for quality and price in the neighborhood!Food: 4/5
Going to start off by saying I worked in the restaurant business for 6+ years, I took my fiancé here to dine in which immediately gave me a red flag when I told the waiter I was allergic to pork which she insisted the sausage was beef even though I knew it wasn’t which she then had to get clarification by the chief, I ordered a Capricciosa SM for the lady and myself substituting the sausage/ham for chicken. I’m not sure why we was given 2 Marguerite SM and it wasn’t even a Marguerite because the toppings of the fresh basil and fresh fior di latte morzarella wasn’t on it. Last but not least we was charged for additional toppings of olives, chicken and mushrooms when all the waiter had to do was either remove the pork on the Capricciosa which was fine, or simply substitute the sausage and ham for chicken.
My review isn't about the food, I didn't eat here. My review is about the amazing hospitality and kindness my Mom and I experienced this afternoon from the staff of this restaurant. My Mom was having a small medical episode which she needed to find somewhere to sit immediately and also being a diabetic she needed water. I walked all around the area trying to find a place to sit and this restaurant was the only one that would let her sit without ordering anything. They didn't even mention about needing to order any food nor drink. They even brought out ice water and asked if we needed anything, and not to be shy to ask. The Waitress was so kind she even refilled the water. My Mom and I really appreciated the hospitality and kindness that we experienced from the staff at this restaurant. Thank You. It is nice to know nice people and nice establishments still exists in NYC.
