TUMC welcome you to this place of worship and gathering of Christian seekers. May your worship experience be a source of spiritual renewal as you seek to faithfully live out God’s call upon your life. This is something that is pretty shocking for a Christian Church. Andrea Ventimiglio started to work at Village Children's Center, in Los Osos which is owned by Trinity United Methodist Church, Los Osos, CA last week. She had been working 2 part time jobs, one which is in the line of work that she has been in for quite sometime, childcare. The hiring process at Village Children's Center took several weeks. They agreed to hours that were suitable for Andrea with her primary job which is 30 hours weekly. She reported to work on 9/18 and worked that week through Thursday as agreed upon. When she reported to work on Monday, 9/25 they told her that she would have to accept different hours in conflict with her primary job which also provides benefits. The person that hired her resigned and this was a new supervisor that made no allowance for the fact that Andrea already had a job that she resigned to accept this position. She would have continued there if Village Children's Center could not provide hours not in conflict with her primary job. Andrea plead her point to no avail. I called Pastor Gilbert Stones on Monday and Tuesday as well as sending an email. No response. Please let Pastor Stones, Village Children's Center and Trinity United Methodist Church, Los Osos, CA that it is unacceptable to treat people like this. In addition, even though they terminated Andrea's employment on Monday, she has yet to receive her final paycheck which they were obligated to provide on Monday.
