My wife and I went to TRIO with another couple. I had the grilled meat loaf. Three slices. I ate only 2, and brought one home. It was a combo of beef, pork and veal. I thought it was dry and a bit bland. My wife had Sea Bass. She thought it could use some seasoning. My friend had Salmon, which he enjoyed quite a bit. His wife had a burger with fries. It looked quite appetizing and she ate it all. The inside of Trio is quite spacious and comfortable and smart. Service was very good. When it came time to pay the bill, the hostess stood by as I entered my tip into the card swipe device. One has four choices: 20%, 25%, 30% and No tip. Tips are calculated on top of total charge, including sales tax. This particular practice is probably the reason that I won't return to TRIO.
My first time in Trio NWW was yesterday Friday. Living on the island me and my friends always appreciate a new restaurant in town. Service was great and even though it was a busy Friday night we received our food in a very reasonable time. I ordered the Pork Chop which was to die for; one of my friends got steak which was very good from she said and my other friend order the crab cakes he said they were delicious. Thank you to the owners and the staff for bringing something new in town - great tasting food and relaxing atmosphere. We will be back soon!
Excellent dinner with all the cousins while on vacation! A combination of small plates, large plates and composed dinners. A great variety to choose from!
Came here for Mother’ Day and it was fabulous! I had the aged pork chop, it was perfectly seasoned. I usually ask for salt just in case but it did not need it at all. Our servers were great. They knew where every plate went without having to ask and they cleared our plates when everyone was done. Two things that I feel have been lost in time. We felt well attended to and not rushed. The banana parfait was so delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and we will put this on the list to go back to.
Everything had amazing flavor! Loved the scallop roll, the cauliflower and their mushrooms - all amazing!
We went for the first time last night after hearing great things. It was delicious! Everyone was so friendly, our server was awesome! Started w Margherita Flatbread, delish! I got meatloaf and it came with 2 sides, goat cheese and chive smashed potatoes were great! My husband got the burger and it was one of the best he had! My daughter got chicken fried steak and she loved it. Ordered a side of Mac and cheese and again amazing! Chef owned and you can definitely tell by the creative menu. We talked with Chef Gus because we had to tell him how amazing it was and he was so humble and an all around great guy! We can't wait to go back, keep hearing about the Pork Chops!!!
We ate at Trio last night. My husband had meatloaf which he said was bland. I had the sea bass with hash and it was a very imperfect dish. It needed both acid and salt. Hash is browned which is what gives it flavor. I had vegetable mush. It was very one note and the sea bass was not seared. It was bland. We were very disappointed.
We just had dinner here everything was excellent! I would definitely recommend this restaurant our waitress was awesome great service. We will definitely be going again.
This restaurant is likely the best I've ever been to in all of Cape May County. Five stars in every area of review: cool, urban industrial vibe, spotlessly clean, upscale feel to the place without any pretension, stellar, warm, welcoming service, highly knowledgable and friendly, attentive staff. All these things would've made for a lovely dining experience even if the food had not been so amazingly delicious. Luckily, it was. It was the most delectable, decadent, mouth watering, delicious food we've experienced in Cape May County. Period. There's a lot of "good" food in the county. There's even some "great" food. This food? There's literally no adjective I can think of to describe it. Our party of four myself, my husband, and another couple went into this dinner hungry because the menu was so enticing. It's a small menu with not a lot of choices, but when there are a limited number of choices, sometimes not one single dish on the limited menu grabs your interest, and you're left unsatisfied. Not the case at Trio. We quite literally wanted everything on the menu. And, though no one caved and ordered a steak, the delicious smell of one on the grill was undeniably tempting. Between the four of us, we ordered: Small Plates 1. Bang bang calamari. Beautiful presentation, full of flavor. I don't even like "fried rubber bands," but tried these and wanted more. 2. Tomatoes and toast. Oh my. I can't even do justice in words to the delicious, creaminess of this heirloom tomato and basil dish with whipped ricotta on little toasted baguette slices. I could have had that as just my entree. Composed Dishes 1. Sea Bass. My friend's husband had this and said it was amazing. It looked gorgeous. Presentation is as beautiful as the food at Trio. 2. Chicken Milanese, ordered by my friend. It, too, was a visual delight and my friend loved it as well. 3. Gumbo was my husband's choice. We have a friend from the bayou who owns a Cajun restaurant. We love Cajun food and are pretty particular about it. I wa sactually surprised my husband took a chance with it because we've been let down many times before by non-Cajun restaurants claiming to do Cajun food. Not so here. Knocked it out of the park. I tried a taste of the andouille sausage and it was nice and spicy. My husband suspects it was homemade sausage. Is he right? The whole dish was perfect. Big Plates 1. BVP Grilled Meatloaf. I had way too much difficulty deciding what to order. I was really, really, really drawn to the sticky garlic ginger pork chop and seduced by the aroma of grilling steaks, but when we asked and learned that "BVP" stands for beef, veal and pork, I was overwhelmingly curious about what the blend of meats would taste like. I had a hunch it would be amazing, and it absolutely was. It also came with two sides, so I chose goat cheese and chive smashed potatoes...HEAVEN...and the roasted vegetables...literally melt in your mouth divine. No one had leftovers because we ate. It. All. This means portion sizes were generous, but not too much like in so many American restaurants. And somehow, magically, though we left full and sated, we all remarked that none of us felt overly stuffed and bloated. To me, that indicates the use of whole foods, natural ingredients and superior quality meats. For dessert, my husband and I split a piece of key lime pie and our companions split a banana parfait. Both were perfect, delicious, yet light ends to our perfect meal. Thanks, Trio, for a memorable night, and for knocking it out of the park! We will be back to try everything else on the menu!
Simply amazing. The food is top tier and the staff is tremendous. If you're looking for a quality sit-down dinner this is must try.
