This establishment is amazing. Welcoming, comfortable, great staff and the food is immaculate. Everything is made fresh, the chef is more than talented and the drinks will keep you coming back. The rasta pasta was the perfect first try. I will be adding more pictures next time I go. That would be my 4th time and more to come. Would always recommend.
I love caribean food so I had to try this place. I enjoyed the food very much. This place also has great service. There is a little stage area for possible performances.
AMAZING FOOD and service!!! The staff was so friendly it felt like going to a friends house. The drinks are YUMMY. We ordered the Rum Punch and Rosemary Passion for drinks and would definitely order again. For a meal we got tamaries trio which was perfect to try a little bit of everything. The meat was melt in your mouth tender. Alot of love was put in making that. Cod fish fritters were yum. Definitely the place to go. Don't miss dessert. The carrot cake was classic!
While I was in Norwalk I thought to try this Jamaican spot. The wait was very long. It wasn't crowded at all for a Saturday night. I waited for my order to go for at 30 to 45 min. In spite of that the food very good. I really enjoyed it. Next time when I visit will call in the order ahead of time. Like many of these restaurants 1 wing = 2 wings... that's not how it should be 1 is 1...period.
Very mediocre Jamaican cuisine. I was so excited to try this place and got an oxtail plate for almost $30 and their signature pasta with salmon. The pasta was absolutely terrible, although the salmon on top was good. And the portion of Oxtail for the price was OUTRAGEOUS. It was so small not even a medium size plate I was so disappointed. Would not go back especially with any craving for authentic delicious Jamaican food.
This was my first time eating here. Stumbled upon this place when i got a $7 grub hub credit. So decided to buy the curry goat special which was $17. Now i am thinking $17 must be large...WRONG...see pic below. This was a small...at best medium no way this was worth $17. They cooked and preped the full nicely, i kindof moved the veggies around before the pic. Definitely will not order here without food credit way too expense!!! Foood tasted good but not worth $17, eaten food from richie rich that tasted better and for wayyyy less.
Drove in from out of town, called ahead to get my order, i called a second time to let them know i was stuck in traffic, arrived at restaurant, meal wasn't ready. I ordered a second meal, it didn't take long. the staff was pleasant. when i did receive my meal, the entire take out container was full of rice enough for three people, a spoon full of vegetables, not enough gravy and 5 pieces of curry goat. all for 24.99. flavor was there but the quantity was not up to.par. next time I'll order just the curry goat.
It is difficult to find good caribbean cuisine anywhere in particular Jamaican Cuisine that cook, seasoned, flavored and taste like the authentic meal if you have tasted and know what I mean. This hide away Tropical Island Spice lived up to its name. The food was plated appropriately but caused you to ask for more once you started digging in. The server Ralston, C rock the ambiance with the bar and the serving. I do believe once the news gets out they are going to need more parking. I found this place by mere chance looking for a place to hang out with friends and family which is also kids friendly. Go check it out you will not be disappointed and those who have tasted will concur.
This place is a Hidden Jewel in Norwalk .We got the curry chicken and jerk chicken rice & peas with cabbage. OMG fire The decor is very impressive I was taken back on how clean and the capacity of the indoor seating was .Nice looking Bar and a stage .Ohhhhh yeahhh the customer service isn’t like the usual experiences I had at the majority of every Jamaican restaurant I’ve been tooo . They were so so nice .
Food & service were really good! I would definitely recommend. Best Jamaican restaurant in Norwalk.
