I love the Sunflower Seed bread. It is good anyway you fix it. Sandwich. Toast. French toast. You name it. Great texture and mild taste that blends with whatever. No more buying two or three kinds of bread for different uses. A plus is that it doesn't wreck my diabetic husband's blood sugar! Thanks, Truckee, from Cottonwood. Yum!

Truckee Sourdough is the real deal! Best sourdough outside of San Francisco, I'd buy it if it was twice the price. It's made by hand in small batches by bakers who care more about their bread than their profit margins. It makes the best toast in the world!

Dear Truckee Co., I noticed recently ( Feb. 2013) that the loaves of Truckee bread in Scolari's have an interior plastic wrap inside of the white paper bag. We ate the loaf within an hour of purchase. It was not quite fresh and not quite stale and the crust was a little spongy. We were disappointed since we really love Truckee Sourdough Company. I went back today and Scolari's gave me a replacement loaf, though again the Truckee bread was wrapped in the plastic bag inside of the white paper bag. The on duty said that he thought that Truckee Co. was wrapping the bread with plastic to extend the shelf life. In my opinion, sealing a ciabatta loaf or baguette in a plastic bag is a bad idea since it messes with the integrity of the crust. Usually people by those types of loaves to be eaten as is right away since that's when they are the best. We always take the time to buy the bread the afternoon that we eat it for dinner; we don't store it, so we really like the soft interior and the crunchier crust. The plastic bag changes everything. Can you rethink the plastic bag idea? Thanks!
