Good place for camping, have enough space for your car, two tents and other stuff. Beautiful views along the way to campground. Make sure to have warm clothes when planning to stay here. We were there on the first week of September and it was extremely cold at night, and there was already snow on the ground (it was out fault though, we didn't expect it to be so tough)

This is not a place to camp if you want solitude. This is a friendly campground that let's you experience a beautiful and rare part of Yosemite. Be prepared to meet your camping neighborhoods and to possibly camp 10 feet from them. Everyone has always been really friendly to me, and there's a store after cafe nearby.

What a great find! While much of Yosemite is booked 6 months in advance, its true - you can still get first come first served campsites here. We rolled in around 11 AM and didn't have a problem; space for 1-2 cars, tent(s), a picnic table and fire ring. They have a small restaurant out front and supply shop; it was like a mini REI/ Grocery store, prices were reasonable, and they even had beer. There are a bunch of great hiking options from the campground so you won't have to drive to trailheads. Please check the weather for Tuolumne meadows (NOT Yosemite Valley), as it can get chilly at night; pack accordingly. Its much cooler up here than in the valley! Realize this is rustic camping, so (no) there are no showers, but there are bathrooms with sinks/ running water, and potable water fill up areas which is nice.If you do need a shower after a few days you can drive on down to the main valley.

Love this campground. We go every year and are always sad to leave. See ya in 2018.

I have been coming to this campground for 20+ years with many generations of family. Rangers are always friendly and helpful. Kid's campfires are always fun. They truly respect the park and the impact we make in it, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else in Yosemite. Dogs OK in the campground, must be leashed, not allowed on trails inside the park (We usually take the drive to Tioga Lake and let them run). No showers
