A veterinarian is an intrical part of your pets livelihood. Not just the doctors, but the entire support staff. When they all come together as a unit you have Tuscawilla Animal Hospital. I have been bringing my fur babies here for more than a decade, and I travel some distance to do this. The knowledgable care, the compassion, the trust, the honesty, the empathy and even sympathy expressed by the doctors and staff is simply, OVER THE TOP! ; But above all they LISTEN, to your worries and concerns for your pet. I know this is a business that has expenses and overhead, but truly they are so much more about the health and wellbeing of my fur babies, I hold so dearly. For a cat with Feline Leukemia most vets would suggest euthanasia, Tuscawilla didn't, because they knew I wasn't ready to give up. The doctors treated each symptom as they appeared and my Goober lived several more happy comfortable years. How about a Veterinary Doctor that takes the time (and patience with me) to teach precisely how to administer insulin injections in my diabetic Maincoon? OR...… Intramuscular hip injections in my German Shepherd, with degenerative hip disease, because the frequent travel would cause more harm and undo stress on his hips? How many of you have received a long handwritten sympathy card (not a generic photocopied signature one) with the memories and antics that your vet remembered about your pet? I have! These are just a few experiences I've had at Tuscawilla Animal Hospital. I could go on and on! Wish our human healthcare system would take a few lessons from Tuscawilla! Thank you Dr. Alex Suero, and all of your amazing associates and staff, for all that you guys do of my beloved pets (fur babies). Love You Guys!!!!! Sheryl H

I would have to agree with some of the previous negative reviews. The doctors lack empathy and treat the situation more like a bussiness transaction. Our 1 yr old doberman had a intestinal obstruction and Dr. Martinez was very quick to offer euthanasia as an option, and giving us a very little hope for a positive outcome even if we opted for surgery to have the obstruction removed. It did not seem right that our otherwise healthy and very strong dobe be put down without giving him a fighting chance. Unfortunately this happened over a holiday weekend and we could not find another vet for a second opinion, much less one to perform the surgery, and time was against us. Under the circumstances we didn't have much option but to leave him here as that was the best chance for him. We received a call 4 hrs after we left him and thankfully he survived the surgery, but even though there was no complications the doctor was giving us little hope. They kept him in the hopital for 4 days. When we went to pick him up they were billing us an additional $800 on top of the $3,000 (max cost as Dr. Martinez said) we had already paid in full for the surgery. No real explanation as to why. We were able to get the second bill down to $300. Finally going home...their technician hurts our dog trying to pick him up to put him in our truck (we asked for expert help since we were afraid to hurt him...big mistake). Dog lets out a big cry...when we get home his incision is bleeding. On top of that as I read the medication we were sent home with I came to the realization that we were sent home with no antibiotics or pain meds. Since we picked him up at closing time I had to wait and take him back the next morning (he was eating and doing well otherwise). In the morning Dr. Martinez wants to run tests on him and xrays at our expense claiming a possible infection and ignoring the fact that the technician obviously hurt him. We declined any further service from them, still ended up with another $100 bill for that visit, but at least we now have some antibiotics which would take care of his "infection", no pain meds however Dr. said because since our dog is so energetic he could hurt himself if he didn't feel any discomfort. The next day our dog is shaking not eating...still bleeding. We take him to Central Florida Animal Hospital (where we received amazing treatment) they immediately send us to an emergency vet in Casselberry (Amazing as well) to leave him overnight for observation due to possible complication possibly needing a second surgery. Not quite clear at this point, but they needed to get him comfortable. He was in desperate need of fluids and pain meds through IV. I go to pick him up the next morning he is wagging his little nub. Thankfully turns out there was no complication he was not eating and was shaking because he was in such great pain. The bleeding was not an infection they found no sign of one. Simply his incision was hurt. The doctor at Casselberry was genuinely shocked when she looked over his record and saw euthanasia was offered. Turns out she says this happens to dogs too often. And with no complications from surgery only a 2 day stay at hospital is necessary. Although I am very grateful the surgery went well the treatment provided by the doctors was inhumane, and I would never return to Tuscawilla Animal Hospital.

NO bed side manner in my opinion, total lack of empathy and I was very emotional and crying. I would not go back for this reason alone.I feel cheated out of the last moments of my pet's life.

Great place to take your animals! I absolutely trust Dr. Suero 100% with my dogs. I have been going here for over 15 years. The office staff is kind and caring and Dr Suero always goes above and beyond to make sure that everything that is happening to my pet is necessary and in the best interest of making them well. It is comforting to know that my dogs are in such great hands when I take them there.

When our dog was hit by a car, we took her here. Our dog did not survive, but not for lack of care and concern on the part of the wonderful staff here. They were absolutely fantastic. They were knowledgeable and able, but more than that, they cared for us and for our dog in her last hours of life. I highly recommend this hospital.
