Twice Sold Tales is an independent used book store. They buy and sell books, and overall their prices are very fair. 

A couple tips:

(1) The owner is a little... Well, she's somewhere between eccentric and bipolar. She's very nice in general but if you catch her on a bad day, she's a. It off putting. If you see the myopic woman with streaks of grey, just be friendly and know,if she's not immediately friendly, she may be having an off day. She loves books and will talk your ear off on a good day though. Really, she's very nice. Old school Seattle. 
(1.5) The rest of the staff is really friendly and helpful at all times. 
(2) Between two and five cats live here at any time. They're all wonderful and cute and socialized and love to be pet (or do not mind at all if you pet them). Most people who frequent the shop either partly come for the kitty fix or just don't care either way (kind of like cats!).  So, the point is, if you don't like cats, or you think cats are gross, don't come here. 
(3) There is a lot of stock here. Check back often. Many books come and go frequently. Check out the different sections, browse, ask the staff questions. (See 1 and 1.5 above).
(4) Be sure to check out happy hour here --- 6pm-9pm every day. 25% off used paperbacks will save you a bunch!

A lot of cats roaming around a lot of books. This place has a huge collection. They have a separate wall for Tolkein alone! Was much easy for me to find a good copy of The Hobbit!! The guys on the front desk were helpful when I asked for help. Leave some donation for cat food on your way out. Oh, the books are priced decently and are in good condition.

AMAZING! Great vibe, amazing selection of book, really cool staff, and did I mention cats?? Like if that’s not a reason enough I don’t know what is. Highly recommend. Don’t know his name but the cashier with pink curly hair is 10/10.

My favorite bookstore. The books are good, cheap, and plentiful. The real reason I come here instead of buying online is for the atmosphere and the staff. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helped me discover some of my favorite books.

Cool vibe -- prices are on the inside cover of the books. While they have a pretty fun selection, they also priced decades-old Michael Crichton novels at $5 a pop.  The same books that proliferate a Goodwill for about fifty cents. They also have cats running about the store, which was fine by me, but something to be cognizant of.
