Such a cute cafe to study and chill with friends. Love how’s its close to campus… AND there’s a student discount!! Al thought it’s not much I recommend the caprese sandwhich with avocado peppermint hot chocolate was perfect for a cold day. Strawberry banana smoothie was really refreshing!
The cutest coffee shop in Little Italy! The atmosphere is so cute for reading, working, or catching up with friends and the service is so friendly! The chocolate croissant was delicious and I’d definitely recommend the matcha!Food: 5/5
I usually go to Starbucks…but Two Shades was closer…so I decided to try it. My latte was delicious!! A great surprise! I tried a plain cup of coffee later..that was a little acidic for me. Great atmosphere with cozy, plush furniture and unique artwork. I’ll definitely skip Starbuck’s and come hangout at Two Shades!Food: 4/5
the place is small but very cute and has good latte. I had the Apple Pie Latte and was surprised that it was not too sweetFood: 4/5
Great vibe and plenty of super comfortable seating and outlets, and fast Wi-Fi that would make any digital nomad drool. Comes with an instagrammable wall as a bonus. Menu is large with various sandwiches, paninis, pastries and bagels. Docked one star because while the atmosphere is hyped, the coffee is a let down. Machine is not high quality and both the drip coffee and Americano were incredibly bland. Come for the great seating, but consider getting coffee elsewhere.
Two Shades Cafe is a cute coffee shop located next to the UIC campus. Great place to hang out and/or get some work done while enjoying coffee and other delicious treats. We tried the Caramel Macchiato and Chocolate Chip cupcake and both were a 10/10. We also ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup and quesadilla . The grilled cheese and soup was a hit with my kids. The quesadilla was also really good, really enjoyed the jalapeño in it. Overall had a wonderful experience during my first visit. The staff is super friendly and welcoming.
This is an Little Italy neighborhood café that is great for working, socializing, and getting a quick bite ! There is a section of tables where you can focus & get some thing done, while the other side has comfy couches and stalls. There is a wide variety of coffees and drinks you can choose here too! P.S. When I had the donut during my visit, it didn’t taste like it was very fresh. However, maybe my donut just happened to be not the best one so I will definitely visit again and try other options!
Adorable place. Server was oddly annoyed that I waited in line to pick up food. I didn’t need that. Other gals were very nice though. Good music. My egg sandwich had freaking onions & peppers in it. You mentioned every ingredient on the menu & left out the thing most people would want to know about. WTH? ‍ most likely won’t come back because of it. Be more transparent with your menu.
I ordered a cappuccino. The cappuccino had the milk volume and texture of a latte, so it was not very enjoyable. The place is a nice place to study, but the quiet broken up by the loudly gossiping baristas. I hate to be a wet blanket, but it was quite loud and disruptive.Food: 4/5
We went to the cutest cafe for lunch the other day. @twoshadescafe Not only do they have great coffee,  lattes, donuts,  and pastries,  but, they also have great smoothies and sandwiches. We had the Turkey Panini sandwich: Panini bread, turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado and mayo. And the Roast Beef Panini sandwich: Panini bread, roast beef, Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. Their sandwiches are served with chips,  with fresh ingredients,  generous portions and are absolutely delicious. To drink I had to try the White Chocolate Raspberry Latte and it was as good as it sounds,  smooth and refreshing. We also tried the Tropical Greens smoothie with Lemongrass, spinach, cucumber, kiwi, apple, bananas and coconut milk. Mellow Mango Smoothie with Mangoes, bananas and whole milk. My favorite was the Tropical Greens Smoothie Loved everything we had,  will return to try more from their delicious offerings
