Needed a replacement social security card. I was helped by a man named Larry. There was apparently a problem with my birthdate on the system. He asked for my birth certificate. I had my passport and drivers license but no birth certificate as the website said I didnt need it. I showed him my birthdates on my passport and license explaining how you have to show your birth certificate for both of these. He said, "We can argue till we're both blue in the face, but I'm not helping you without your birth certificate". I went home, got my birth certificate, and came back where Larry was still working. After I showed him my birth certificate, I voiced my displeasure in having to waste my time because obviously all of the dates matched up correctly. Then Larry stopped me and said, "Sir, I can tell you're an educated man, but I'm the last person you want to mess with right now". As soon as he said that, I asked to speak to his supervisor. His supervisor's name was Jennifer, and when I told her what he said, he immidiately interjected, "No, thats not what happened, he was mad he had to go home, he said some things he shouldn't have (which i didn't), and now he's here." I asked him to clarify what he said to me since I was supposedly wrong. When I said this, he looked down and had no response. His supervisor Jennifer just said, "Sir, theres nothing he can do to mess with your social security card. You will recieve it in two weeks in the mail." Larry was very rude and aggressive towards me. Looking through other reviews it looks as if Larry has had his fair share of run ins with other customers and obviously does not provide positive customer service. If anyone in the social security office with power is reading this, please look into firing Larry. It would be good for the social security office and the people it serves.

My hold time was longer than I would've liked, but once I got someone on the line they were very polite and efficient, handling my issues quickly.

I had to wait for several minutes after the automated greeting, but once I had a real live person to talk to, she was very helpful and explained as much as she could since I was calling for a sibling.

I recently received a letter marked urgent and to contact Larry, ext.26310 by August 22, 2016. I started calling on Monday, 08/15/2016, Wednesday, 08/17/2016, Thursday, 08/18/2016 and Friday, 08/19/2016 and left messages for Larry to contact me. As per his recorded message speak slowly, precisely, leave a short message and personal information .He has not responded and Monday, 08/22/2016 is my urgent deadline. Not returning telephone calls is very disrespectful to your clietele. Who is in charge of the Manhattan, Kansas Office??
