Story

The UCCS Bookstore is the only place on campus to purchase textbooks, official Mountain Lion apparel, and supplies. Located on the first floor of the University Center, quickly swing by between classes for a snack, scantrons, or a textbook for class.

The Bookstore is a nonprofit auxiliary organization owned and operated by UCCS. 100% of all surpluses are reinvested in the campus community. We are committed to creating a better campus environment for students, faculty, and staff by providing top-notch customer service to enhance your Bookstore experience.

The store policies are unreasonable here and customer service is unreliable. I've never rented from here because their prices aren't competitive with Amazon and Chegg. Out of the three times I've purchased books, they've backordered them (which I don't find out until I show up to pick them up). Clothing is overpriced.

Edit: I showed up to the bookstore to pick up a book that they claimed was ready for pickup. When I arrived, they told me it had been backordered. I then waited two weeks for the book to come to the store. I eventually called and was told that it was available. I never received an email like I was supposed to because they sometimes "type email addresses in incorrectly." To top it all off,  the price I paid for the book was no longer "accurate" and they wanted to charge me double what they originally said it would be because they sold out of used copies. Silly me for thinking they'd actually compete with Amazon's prices and customer service.
I was then told that it wasn't their fault that they had sold out of used copies and that they were charging new-copy prices.

I am surprised how unprofessional the management of the bookstore is. Only good thing I have to say is that the student employees have good mannerism.

I witnessed them charging almost every single student in line returning their used rentals the full price of the book for “water damage.”  Seriously? Some of these books were never even opened. Way to SCAM your students. Do not rent from them! Use Chegg.

Textbooks are overpriced in general, then UCCS adds anywhere from 30-130% to the price. The other review is a UCCS allum
