Story

Medical Center of the Rockies, located in Loveland, Colorado, is the sister hospital of Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. Both are operated by UCHealth. The hospital is home to a regional heart center where open heart surgery is performed; a regional neurosciences center that cares for victims of head and back injury, stroke, spinal cord and nervous system diseases, as well as several neurosurgical intensive care beds.HistoryMedical Center of the Rockies opened to patients on Valentine's Day 2007, to relieve crowding in Poudre Valley Hospital, and provide better access to patients from outside of Fort Collins, Larimer County, and even the state of Colorado. Poudre Valley Hospital did not close as a result of the new hospitals opening, but downgraded its trauma center from a state approved level II to an also approved level III and now focuses much more on orthopedic care, and cancer treatment than MCR.FacilitiesThe hospital has 136 licensed beds, all in private rooms that are not separated by curtains. The Hospital operates multiple surgical suites as part of its "Heart Center of the Rockies" that are also used for trauma patients, and others. The hospital is equipped with two helicopter landing padsThe hospital offers a number of facilities available for use by patients families, including an outdoor courtyard, a chapel, and comfortable facilities for families and relatives that serve as waiting rooms.

My husband went to the ER . It was an amazing experience! He was taken back immediately and within 15 min he had an IV had seen the Dr. and was on his way to MRI. We came from Wyoming because our other experience with them was also remarkable. They provide top notch care and have been recommended by many others from Cheyenne. We do not receive this level of care from our hospital in Cheyenne. These professionals are very compassionate and want to do their best to find answers and get you the help that is needed. Our nurses were wonderful! We will continue to make the drive to Colorado, it is well worth it!

Took my 1.5 year old to the ER. We waited over 20 minutes for a doctor, extremely slow response. The doctor took his temperature and told us he was fine. I didn't receive a bill after 2 weeks so I called in to find out what was going on. Turns out we were being charged almost $1,000 and billing had messed up my address, which is why I hadn't received a bill. I corrected the address, yet still no bill after another 2 weeks. I called in again, and they had messed up the address again, but the bill had been sent to collections after less than 2 months because they assumed I put the wrong address on purpose even though I had called twice to correct it. In order to avoid this destroying my credit we were forced to pay the bill in full. This cost created significant financial strain on us, but the billing department assured me they would help out because of their error. Nothing. This has been literally the worst experience I've ever had with any health care system from the doctors to billing and everything in between. I wish I could go back and never walk through those hospital doors.

The Labor and Delivery unit nurses could not have been kinder! I couldn't believe how accommodating they were and very sweet. Definitely a great group. I wish I could have caught the Wee Steps people, but their hours weren't posted on the door.

The PA I saw after being admitted to the ER was beyond rude. I was in intense pain and he barely acknowledged my presence. When my diagnosis was given to me as something non life threatening he seemed literally annoyed by my existence and did a terrible job explaining my test results. It was easier for me to decode them on google by myself than listen to his perturbed half sentences. The guy made me feel like I should apologize to him for seeking help in the first place. His name was Christopher Scott. If you get him... well, good luck.

Well on December of 2016. I went with an Eye irritation nurses took care of me. But I did not know I was going to run into an Incompetent Doctor. He stands about 10 feet away from me and first thing he says out of his own lips. Saying I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO. That shocked me. I told him. If you can’t help it’s okay I will Leave. I told him I know what’s wrong with my eye. And I need some medication. Gave him my phone with the symptom of my eye. And he said. Again I don’t know what to do or what to give you. I just said. If you can’t help me it’s ok. I will leave. Then he goes. Let me check with Pharmacy and see what they recommend. He came back and said this is what pharmacy recommends and I left. He said it’s okay. You can leave now. I was thinking for being there 8 minutes he was being nice and not charging me anything. Because he was clueless of what was happening with my eye and I told him what was wrong with my eye. Well 2 months later he charged me $734.00. I said what. That Doctor did not do nothing I called them explained the cituation and let them know what happened. So then they sent me a new bill for around $247. 00 so I paid it in May And now their lack of communication. Now I was sent to collection for $734.00. After I paid them still sent my bill to collection. PLEASE DONT COME TO THIS CLINIC On 71st And 10 street in Greeley. . SPECIALLY IF THE DOCTOR TELLS YOU. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. GO STRAIGHT TO THE HOSPITAL INSTEAD. AND GET BETTER SERVICE FOR LESS MONEY THAN THIS PLACE. I’m am talking about the Clinic located in Greeley on 71st Avenue and 10th street. Don’t go there.
