The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency aims to improve the quality of life to residents of the 14-county Upper Cumberland area.
The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) was established by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1973 to be the delivery system for human resources in the 14 counties of the region. The programs operated by UCHRA initially included job training and transportation. During ensuing years, the UCHRA has expanded to supply a wide range of services that use a combination of funds from federal, state and local organizations.
Serving 14 counties in the Upper Cumberland region, The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency aims to improve the quality of life of the less fortunate. Our vision is to create a new direction for social service delivery throughout the Upper Cumberland region. Our motto, “Delivering Hope”, serves to remind us that everyone needs help, everyone can help, and everyone can use an occasional hand up that creates that spark of hope.
Our mission is to promote a strong sense of community and family values by administering programs designed to provide tools, knowledge and resources to improve the quality of life, promote a positive sense of individual self-worth, encourage responsible decision making and provide opportunities for individuals to become productive and independent while giving first priority to the elderly, handicapped and severely economically disadvantaged.
