We had been wanting to try this place every since it opened. I lived in Japan for many years, and often crave ramen and other dishes. We have little kids, though, and didn't feel it was appropriate to bring them during busy times. We got lucky this Saturday when we were downtown and hungry at around 1pm. We went with another couple and their two children. The staff was wonderful, and very helpful. He never made us feel out of place for being there with kids. The food was outstanding! I have not had anything comparable since being home. The broth was so rich and fat, which is exactly what it should be. Everyone was happy with their food. We had a great experience, and couldn't be happier. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

So, this review is being written while I'm in the restaurant. I have enjoyed Japanese street food before so I figured I'd try this place. Nice atmosphere, polite server, good location. Unfortunately the time it took me to get my food was way too long in my opinion. When I order " street food" I don't expect to wait an hour to get it when there are only two other customers in front of me. If nothing else I'd like to be updated on the status/reason for delays or even a refill on my glass of water. So after an hour of waiting, I'm at the point where I'm deciding to leave or not. And finally an update!!! Apparently the delay is because two of the employees quit so there is only one person (the head chef) cooking while two new cooks observe. So understandable delay. Manager/server also stated food is on the house. Finally get my bowl of ramen. Pork belly is cooked well, easy to cut with chop sticks. Veggies could have been cooked a little more(personal preference is that vegetables in ramen should be softer) soup base was solid though. So over all the food wasn't bad quality wise. Just a bad day for the business. Hopefully things get better for them.

If there was a zero, I'd use that rating. Went for lunch with a large group (16) from work for a special event. Drinking water was warm, had to ask for ice. So they brought one glass of ice water to the person that requested it. Service was extremely slow. Burgers were undercooked, among other complaints. Half our group was finished eating before the other half even got their food. Server said their kitchen isn't set up for that large of a group when we all ordered something different. It would have been better if we'd have all ordered ramen. Really?!?! Not sure why they even took the reservation if that was the case. Then seemed annoyed that we wanted separate checks. Won't be back.

The tofu appetizer was amazing! Staff was great despite being very busy and was helpful in ordering esp as many of the menu items were not available due to the long busy weekend. Ramen was very enjoyable and a large portion. Loved the vibe and the beer list was more than adequate

Still my favorite ramen place in town. Quality is a half step down from the more trendy joint in Benson but not enough to justify the other shortcomings of that other place.

The only problem really is it seems like they are out of something 75% of the time I go there. Sometimes an appetizer, last time it was the pork shoulder. 

But. The food is great, the place is clean and the staff is always accommodating and friendly.
