I went to get my hair done (first timer at Ulta) and had made an appointment for a $63 dye job. 

Not once did my stylist inform me of additional fees with things she encouraged me to do, and the website was unclear to what that included (like a shampoo etc). She would suggest things without telling me if it was additional or included, and the few times I asked if something would be extra she assured me it would be the same.

 By the end of the appointment, I was anxious because there was no way everything done was under the umbrella of the initial $63 treatment, but I still was never informed of a price. Online, it read that the price would be determined upon consultation, which you'd imagine was at the beginning, but that did not happen to me. 

I walked away with a $186 bill, and a haircolor not even remotely like what I walked in wanting, simply because she would "encourage" me to do something different or take matters into her own hands and do something I didn't agree to. If I had known that I was going to be paying nearly $200, I would not have done it. 

Not to mention she was half an hour late for my appointment. I was very clear about having to leave to make it to work, but she seemed to disregard that and I was an hour late to my shift. I reached out to Ulta about how unprofessional a few of the things that happened were (being late, not being upfront about prices, etc.) but they've done nothing. 

I will not be returning to an Ulta Salon and would discourage anyone else from doing so .

They don’t know how to color match! The first time they tried to color match my skin the foundation was WAY to yellow and the second time it was so light it made my skin white and I looked sick! Then they wouldn’t let me exchange it for the right color! Went to Orem and they did the exchange and did a correct color match.

I went to the store in the morning  around 10:30am. I had to return a few items. The cashier seemed a little bothered with the fact that I was returning items.  She couldn't figure out how to do a return and had to call a manager. Well after all the fuss I decided I would just do an exchange. I needed some help finding a certain item and couldn't find 1 sales person to help me. The point being that this ulta's customer service sucks!

It's a clean store and I use the brands they carry.  Normally I like shopping at Ulta, but this location has TERRIBLE customer service. The employees are more interested in talking to each other than helping customers. Not knowledgeable on products, and overall not friendly. I may go back because its close to home, but will also try to avoid if possible.

I went in looking for a particular product for nails. I was greeted when I walked in the door. I browsed around the store for a bit trying to find what I wanted. After I couldn't find it, I asked for help from the first person I found and help is what I got. 
There was no line at the checkout, a person who was running the cash register was friendly and nice.
I know nothing about makeup or beauty products. But the store is Big, had tons of stuff, seemed to be well organized. It wasn't difficult for me to find the nail stuff.
A lot of negative reviews so far but I didn't experience any of that. Perhaps a bit of a learning curve right after they opened?
