"Love is the spirit of this church, and service is its law. This is our great convenant: to dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love, and to help one another."
Our Sunday services represent a wide range of religious, ethical, and spiritual traditions and meet at 9:45AM on Sunday mornings.
Ours is a living tradition. We celebrate insight and wisdom from Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Earth-centered traditions - to name a few - as well from our own Unitarian Universalist heritage.
We celebrate the gift of reason and the principle of the Free Mind. As such, we encourage one another to pursue our personal religious/spiritual journeys in a warm, caring, supportive community. We believe that in thinking for ourselves and in honoring our own experiences of loss and love, of heartache and hope, we then live more deeply and more creatively in the midst of the mysteries of life.
We create spirituality and community beyond boundaries, working for more justice and more love in our own lives and in the world.
The Unitarian Universalist Meeting House - formerly the First Universalist Church of Pittsfield - has been the progressive liberal religious voice in the Pittsfield community for more than one hundred and fifty years.
We seek a deeper spirituality, share a commitment to affirming the inherent worth and dignity of all persons, and promote respect for the interconnected web of all existence.
All are welcome to join the congregation.
