Wish that the front desk people have been more truthful about the time we have to leave the ground. They should follow the military standard. Otherwise, the place is wonderful.

I lived at the Academy before the roads were even paved! My Father, Col.G.C.Clementson, was one of the Founding Fathers, he set up the Aero&ThermoDynamics Dept. Which included a Wind Tunnel Lab (used to be called Clem's Foley). When designing the first wind tunnel, he unfavorably crossed the path of the Architect. If you're not familiar with Wind Tunnels, they have very tall Stacks, to release the noise high in the atmosphere. The problem was, "nothing was going to be higher than the Architect's Chapel..." and I mean NOTHING! So my Father had to visit with the Architect to explain the situation. As required, he figured out how to snake the first part of the stack underground. Then the last of the stack became much shorter when coming outside. One of the little known facts, is that the design of the Chapel, the spires represented Hands in Prayer. Since there are several religions represented in this Chapel, and they all pray, this was the perfect design for ALL religions. Beautiful, isn't it? Inside & out! Another little known fact is that a Representative from the Air Force had to gain permission from the Pope to house the Catholic Chapel amongst the other religions. Especially since the Catholic Chapel was smaller than the Protestant Chapel and it was to be situated below! Can you imagine! The Chapel is truly magnificent, and a must-see. Enjoy!

What an absolutely stunning building! (Yeah, I'll confess, I only came here after seeing it in the new PS4 game Horizon: Zero Dawn). Made the experience even more special, seeing it in real-life. The place is immaculate, and people are very helpful. Take the tour, you won't regret it.

Truly a beautiful place to worship the Lord. The chapel has separate chapels for Protestants, Catholics, Jews, and Buddhists. Definitely a very reverant atmosphere.
