We searched all over New Orleans for a school that was the right fit for our son. We are thrilled with UMS! The faculty is caring, informed and supports each child in their growth.  The mixed age classes have helped our son grow faster and become a helper/leader to younger children. We love their calm, peaceful classrooms and the significant focus on outdoor play.  So happy we found this school!

I wanted a place where my kids could just be kids before they went to "big" school, yet still learn a good deal to satisfy their natural curiosity. UMS is all of that and more. My older son recently graduated and was more than prepared for kindergarten. The teachers are loving and caring, and very experienced. The kids spend a lot of time outdoors exploring and creating, which was very important to me. And the school community is kind and tight-knit. I am a true believer in the Montessori method (and UMS!) after seeing what this amazing school does every day.

The teachers here are wonderful and caring. The environment is very friendly and my child has a fantastic time there. For such a small building they utilize their space very well. There are multiple playground areas outside and even a huge sandbox. My child LOVES the sandbox.
