The UC Washington Center is a multi-campus residential, instructional and research center for students and faculty from the University of California.
The following campuses participate in the academic program of the UC Washington Center. Students from these and other campus programs spend a term in residence at the Center working and studying in the Washington DC metropolitan area. As interns with Congress, the Federal Government, research and advocacy organizations, the news media and through a host of other opportunities, students gain firsthand exposure to the American political process while attaining valuable work experience. Students enrolled during the academic year take courses at the Center to fulfill the academic component of each campus program. Many write and present comprehensive research papers based in part on their internship experiences.

The Center is also home to several research units of the University of California including the Beyster Institute at the Rady School, UC San Diego, Forum for Collaborative HIV Research, UC Berkeley, Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation (IGCC), Inter-University Program for Latino Research (IUPLR) and UC San Francisco Center for Drug Development Science (CDDS) as well as the Office of Federal Governmental Relations, the University's liaison with Congress and the Federal government and other affiliates such as The California Institute for Federal Policy Research.
