Nice classes, good professors. But, and I am not exaggerating, the Financial Aid Office is a train wreck. A train wreck you have to deal with every single semester. Several generations of my family have attended college here and everyone has a horror story regarding that office. They lost my mother's financial aid file one year. Lost it. I had trouble with my eligibility for student loans because they failed to report my scholarship amount. They make a mistake and you end up paying for it. This is a nice university, and I would recommend it, but watch the Financial Aid Office like a hawk. They will screw you hard if you let them. And they won't even buy you a nice dinner before they do it.

The administration really works with you to advance your ideas. I attended a Phi Theta Kappa conference and I enjoyed the campus layout. It's a bit older and could use a fresh coat of paint here and there, but it was very clean, and the people were kind. That's more important that the condition of the building.

Lived on campus for 4 years. It was overall a pretty good experience. It would be better if they had a way of keeping students on campus over the weekend. The library is very nice. I spent a ton of time in the study rooms on the 2nd floor.

UCO needs to figure something out - if you want to talk to someone at the school, be prepared to be on the phone for at least 10 minutes. Every place at the student union is understaffed - so prepare for lines. The websites layout is SO disorganized and not user friendly to get anything figured out while you wait on the phone. This school is not commuter friendly, and the grad program I was attending didn't care if I worked full time. If I'm paying your salary, learn to be flexible with me. I'm now applying to a school that figured all this out. Get it together, people!!

do NOT live on campus!!!! It will be the biggest mistake of your year! Housing nickel and dimes you. After all said and done, the money you save on tuition is made up by the $4k price tag on the ill-maintained commons apartments! If you decide to change rooms, regardless if you change or not, if you're request is approved they will bill $100 to your account, even if you stay where you originally were. On top of that, UCO police will make you fear even leaving your dorm. Hands down, the commute is worth not dealing with the harassment. Other than that, check out rate my professor, the teachers that are good are above and beyond, the teachers that aren't will make dates on their syllabus sooner than scheduled and scold you for even using the restroom.
