At University Orthopedic Specialists, the goal is to provide the highest quality of care in the most convenient manner possible.

Story

Our clinic is conveniently located on River Road in north central Tucson.

The physicians that practice at our office are Dr. James B. Benjamin, Dr. Jon K. Nisbet, Dr. Michael D. Miller, Dr. Francisco G. Valencia and as of September 2013 our newest sports medicine physician, Dr. Christopher G. Houdek.

Before your visit, you can request an appointment and input your patient data using our Secure Patient Portal, or you can download, print and complete the necessary patient registration documents in our Patient Forms. If you have an upcoming appointment, be sure to update and maintain your medical history using our Patient History page. Good Doctors!!  TERRIBLE administrative staff as well as some of the MA's, Office Manager is good.  Dealing with the office personnel is a high hurdle - they will lose your info, lose test results, answer zero questions, they have no patience to deal with customers, they are rude via telephone and basically have no business dealing with people.  Only twice I have called this office, asking questions about test results and appointments. That's two times too many. Both times have ended with getting NO INFO and having to talk with the Manager. You might find that this office staff is too much hassle to deal with for the trouble of talking to a good doctor.

Dr. Houdek knows what he's doing and does a great job doing so. Is also very easy to talk to.

Just a phenomenal all-around experience. Dr. Nisbit couldn't have been more helpful and clear. He really helped clear up some questions and confusion I had about the pain in my knees while also keeping a consistent light-hearted conversation. I left with a feeling of complete satisfaction and will most definitely be back if I ever need to get anything else in his specialty checked out in the future.

Dr. Houdek proved to be very knowledgeable within his field of ACL and Meniscus reconstruction. Personable and allows for all questions to be answered. Takes time to allow recovery and works closely with therapist for a stronger recovery. Out of all Drs. I saw, I finally felt that I was in the right hands with him.

 On a recommendation I went to see dr benjamin for a  knee replacement after an examination and xrays, I asked him what is the game plan what do you recommend, he said I will give your doctor my findings,  so I ask him again where do we go from here, he said again I will give your doctor my findings,  my doctor never got his report, several attempts to see if the report came in, it never did. My doctors nurse tried for weeks to to get the report,  fastforward to over a month now my nurse contacts a staff member and got his report privately, when my doctor reviewed this report, he called in his nurse to review, after the review they were besides them selves, there was no plan of action, this appointment with dr benjamin cost me $ 800.00 that's a lot of money and my time. His behavior shows a absolute lack of professionalism,  my doctor and nurse had much more harsh words. Caveat emptor, buyer beware
