Missing clothes, Terrible experience, Terrible customer service!

We were promised that a suit would be ready at 5pm on Wednesday. We explained that the suit was for a wedding and it was very important that it be done on time because we would be heading out of town. 

Of course!! The suit was not ready. Not only was it not ready, but it was no longer onsite. Sounds like they outsource some of their cleaning and we weren't even able to pick up a dirty suit. Our garment was missing in action.

If they knew there would be a backup or delay, it would have been nice to be notified BEFORE pick up time. We would have gone to another cleaner or at least asked that the suit not be sent away. 

She had no answers for what to do other than wait a few days because their business was having "problems". 

I've dry cleaned items here that came back too small, (i.e. Washed, not actually dry cleaned) so I should have known.

If you're on any kind of timeline, or want your clothes back, find another business.

Superior custom service!  Recently I had a business trip the following morning and needed my dry cleaning for the trip. I was caught in traffic on the bridge. I called to ask the closing time, and the manager said she would wait for me.  When I arrived 20 minutes after closing I was surprised to see her patiently waiting for me.  She was smiling and just as courteous as always. The best customer service in the DC area!

While they do an OK / average job in dry cleaning, and an OK job in sewing (I had a ripped hole in a coat pocket, and they sewed it up with coins inside so i can't get them out) the Uptown Cleaner store hours are horrible! I live in the same building (Gramercy) and work full time in Washington DC. By the time I get home from work on metro to pick up my slacks and skirts, the store is already closed and I cannot pick up my items. They are closed on Sundays. If they extended hours or offered delivery to the Millenium / Metropolitan / Acadia I would consider adding a star.
