Story

We represent the URI student body to the university administration, RI state officials, and the local community. We work to improve conditions for students both on and off campus and we see that the Student Activities Tax is justly spent.

Mission

We, the undergraduate students of the University of Rhode Island, in order to provide an official and representative student government, to investigate student problems and take appropriate action, to provide the official voice through which student opinion may be expressed, to encourage the development of responsible student participation in the overall policy and decision making process of the community, to enhance the quality and scope of education at the university, to participate in university and faculty communities, and to provide means for responsible and effective participation in the organization of student affairs, do ordain and establish this constitution and bylaws for the Student Senate of the University of Rhode Island.
