Brought in my jacket that I had spilled some coffee on.  It had a fur hood so I knew I wouldn't be able to just throw it in the wash.  I told the lady at US Cleaners to make sure the fur on the hood didn't get damaged and she agreed she could do that.  I came back a few days later and she handed me back the jacket with my fur completely removed.  I asked where the fur was and she gave me the most confused look in the world.  I told her how I specifically mentioned the fur when I dropped it off and she insisted there was never any fur on it.  I wish I had looked closer before dropping the jacket off because I noticed the fur portion was removable by being zipped on or off.  I showed her the zipper and said this is where the missing fur should be.  She told me that they send the clothes to a 3rd party and they must have lost it.  She took my information and promised to call me the next day with news.  Two days later I called her and she said it was lost but she was willing to give me "credit" for the loss.  I sent my husband in and he left with a personal check for the amount of the jacket.  They ended up reimbursing me but I'd much rather have my favorite jacket back :(

My husband and I have taken our clothes to US Cleaners since 1997. In that time they've cleaned and pressed at least 5 shirts a week, 52 weeks a year for 20 years. They have cleaned sweaters, cashmere coats, dress slacks and draperies. They've hemmed pants and altered dresses for me. In that time they have never lost or damaged any article of clothing they've cleaned or altered for us. I would not let one serial malingerer influence your decision of whether or not to trust them with your clothing.
