Closes at noon on Wednesday. So much for a fully functional government. These hours really screwed me. If the democrats were in control they would be open for 40 hours a week.

New Mexico Social Security (Albq.) office needs restructure- too much red tape!!!! Any one know or a have family member that works there for a referral? The system is so messed up I've heard people talk about it but now I know how they feel cause I'm walking through their shoes. I went to the Social Security office to get simple replacement social security card my drivers license was expired by two days . MVD asked for a valid documentation - birth certificate, Social Security card and proof of residence., so I went to get a replacement ssi card ...piece of cake right? Nope--after waiting for an hour -- I showed him my drivers license he said he couldn't accept it cuz it expired... I said I no this and so I need my ssi card to renew my license..he gave me a paper listing the docs.. I said okay I'll be back I have my medical card in my vehicle, went to my car went back waited 15 minutes to be screened thru security and went to the gentleman helping me... showed him my medical card he declined it as it didn't have my bday so I said okay I'll get an official medical record so I went to Lovelace DAvita got the documentation which shows all my medical history --- I felt violated because this is confidential information -- went back to their office- waited 10 more minutes to be screened again--- showed it to supervisor he declined it even though it's an official record and my doctor electronically signed it... I showed him a bureau of Indian affairs CIB and the supervisor at the local Social Security office declined all my documentation. They need restructure too much red tape. I'm a Citizen of the US and registered voter, I pay taxes and I simply could not get my ssi card.. and I lost 4hours of wages but they supervisor of Social Security doesn't care. Their not customer service driven at ALL- You need a valid drivers license to get your social security card and a social security card to get it or renew a license...#Socialsecurityofficdystemsneedwork😡😡😡😡😡😡

I. Was here yesterday August 14th i give these worker's a lot of credit for putting up with us the million questions we have and they answer them very polite and. Friendly i think the guy that helped me was Aron. I think thanks aron didn't leave with out my questions answered. No complaints here great job

The service is ok, the staff DEFINATELY needs to be properly trained though! If you can't look up a social sercurity card on the computer, that is way over due, THEN you don't need to be doin off8ce work!! Some don't have customer service skills, so they shouldn't be working with the public thats for sure!!

I had the great pleasure of talking on the phone to a Ms. Sara Giovannini at the Social Security Office. She was helpful, patient and cheerful all the while we were on the phone. she is an asset to that office and I wish there were more people like her in public offices even in the world. i am also sending a letter commending her to her supervisor Ms. Steinberg. It is a pleasure talking to people like her.
