One of Thunder Bays only full service hotels. It is starting to show its age a bit but they have been doing a decent job of renovating rooms. It has a full dining room and a less formal cafe. Food is generally good. It has two private floors that are worth considering if you want to be sure of quiet. They are also upgraded more regularly. Decent fitness center that tends not to be very busy One thing that is great if you are from the region and going on a trip somewhere is that if you stay overnight at the beginning or end of your trip then you can park there for free. Since airport parking is $12 a day it doesn't need to be that long of a trip to make it worthwhile

Decent place to stay near the airport. Some rooms recently updated and are nice. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Wake up calls are not automated and it's a nice touch to be talking to a live person when the wake up call rings.

This place is quaint! The staff is extremely friendly, treated us very nice even though they knew we booked through a third party. The hotel itself must have been top notch in it's time, and since had been nicely updated. Very comfortable. Very clean. We didn't eat at the restaraunt there, but it looked like a desirable atmosphere. We booked a double Queen room, it was bigger than expected, nicely renovated. Bath and body amenities. Very good value for our money.

Have heard good reviews but upon check-in, I was told the hotel was over-booked. I had been in contact with the hotel for a few days before and was assured that I had a solid reservation. I had reserved the room for quite a while even before phoning a few days before my arrival. The front desk had arranged to put me in another hotel close by but still the immediate inconvenience of being notified upon arrival without a courtesy email or phone call makes this experience all the more disdainful. Not impressed at all. Even multiple confirmations did not make a difference.

In a city called Thunder Bay, I figured the only fitting place to stay would be Valhalla itself. I arrived later in the day, and the hotel was packed with people elegantly dressed for a wedding. As such, the hotel was also booked quite full, with only a couple room options left. This was no problem though, as the friendly staff at the front desk worked to accommodate me with a nice room at a nice price. Being as busy as it was, I chose not to try out the restaurants or the pool area, however from what I saw they all looked very nice. The room itself was satisfactory, my only real complaint being that it was at the end of an exceptionally long hallway. Should I find myself in Thunder Bay again, I'd like to get a more full experience of the hotel at a less busy time.
