Historical landmark

The USS California is pointing at 602 Capitol Street which the the house where Isabella Roney lived and she is the daughter of Mayor James Roney who is one of the men responsible for getting the ship built at Mare Island.  He is my wife’s 2nd Great Grandfather and Isabel is her Great Grandfather.  I love the history and so glad that they honored Roney.  He helped put Mare Island on the map.  He had to lobby Washington DC to get them to build the only battleship built on the West Coast.
