Each time we have to open or close our pool seems to be a bigger challenge with these folks. Last fall we purchased a new pool cover from Valley Pools when they closed the pool for the season. Unlike our previous cover, this cover did not allow any water to pass through it which ultimately ended up causing our pool to break because of rain water that piled up on it. Unfortunately, they never told us this was something we needed to be concerned about or else we would have pumped the water off. This wouldn't have been a problem though had our pool been opened 3 weeks ago when we called for it to be opened but there has been significant rainfall in the last week that accumulated on top of it. When we called 3 weeks ago, a nice lady told us that Stan (the bottleneck in their process) was not available but if she'd like she could tell him to schedule our pool to be opened as soon as possible. I told her that was fine and left it at that. 2 weeks passed and I never heard anything so I called back and this time was able to speak with Stan. Stan tells me nobody ever gave him the message but that he'd get somebody to our place on Thursday to open it. The icing on the cake though was the technician leaving our pool half finished and never returning, all while the pool cover is draped across our yard for the grass to burn up and die in the heat and never came back. I called in to speak with somebody and the lady I spoke with said that Stan was definitely given our message 3 weeks ago but that he very regularly fails to call people back because he is so busy and that my best bet is to call back on Monday morning and hopefully I can talk with Stan then. We've tried to be very patient with Valley Pools over the years but they have a staffing issue that has only continued to grow worse as they've gotten larger. We're now left with expensive pool repairs that were the direct result of their negligence and them refusing to do repairs because they don't do that kind of work. Buyer beware - if you opt to go with Valley Pools, be prepared.

The staff is very knowledgeable, and they will not try to sell you anything you don't need.

This is the best "pool place" I have ever dealt with. Their service is fast, professional, and courteous. I recently had the motor wear out in our pump. I called and they sent someone the next day and the new motor was installed. Also, "J" in the service department helped me work through the process of converting our pool to chlorine from a "special" set of pool chemicals (a real money pit prescribed by another company when the pool was built). He made the process easy and everything went flawlessly. Great company to work with!

Very knowledgeable crew that have helped me on a number of occasions to buy the right products for my spa. Wish they were closer to Charlottesville, but other than that I wouldn't change a thing about them.
