Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home is a third Generation Funeral Home, currently operated by HowieT. Van Rensselaer and his wife Gretchen Kartman Van Rensselaer and assisted by parents Howard V. and Bethany. The Funeral Home was established in 1907 on Jamestown Street and known at that time as the Tucker Funeral Home. When it was purchased by the Myers family in 1937, It was moved to the current location on Church Street and was purchased by Howard Gage Van Rensselaer and his son Howard Vernon in 1965. In 1971 Howard Gage passed at the age of 55 and the businesses in Randolph and Randolph where run by Howard V. Van Rensselaer. In 1984 the Randolph location also purchased the Hoitink Undertaking Company on Main Street and merged it into the Church Street location. At this same time, the Little branch was sold to the Mentley family from Gowanda. The Firm Celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2015 The Van Rensselaer family is grateful to the entire surrounding area for their loyal support as we strive to be complete care givers during your times of loss.
