Story

Vanilla Sugar Bakery is a sister owned scratch bakery located in Winfield, Illinois. After many years of doing small orders that eventually grew to large corporate orders sisters, Maggie and Norma, left the corporate world to further pursue their bakery dream.
In the summer of 2010 began the journey of a lifetime for us as we looked for the perfect location to make Vanilla Sugar Bakery a reality. The doors of VSB officially opened in November 2012 with the warmest welcome from the surrounding communities.
All of the VSB recipes have been crafted and tweaked for over 10 years using only the finest and freshest ingredients. That means there are no preservatives, fillers or additives in any of the products baked in the VSB Kitchen. Each and every morning we begin baking in the early morning hours so that you are always guaranteed the freshest and most delicious gourmet treats.

The baking doesn’t stop at the VSB Display as we also create Custom Birthday Cakes, Wedding Cakes, Special Occasion Dessert Tables, Corporate Dessert Tables, Catering, Bridals Showers and so much more!!

I hate to bash on businesses, especially locally owned bakeries. But I showed up 2 minutes after opening,  waited 15 minutes without being acknowledged for only 2 customers to be helped, and they were already out of their signature item Cinnamon Rolls. I may try again on a pre-order as apparently they're "that good" and my I need fat kid needs to try it.... but I was turned off by the customer service.

Great coffee spot! We love chatting and enjoying the goodies. Cinnamon rolls are to die for, call to find out when they'll have them! Their house made caramel is the best I've ever had. Cupcakes are creative, and the cookie bars are always good.

Perfect small bakery that always has something delicious to eat anytime they are open. Loved the muffin donut and blueberry scone! It's always enjoyable to stop in.

Ordered custom decorated cupcakes with school colors and mascot.  Got plain cupcakes.  Ordered 2 weeks in advance.  My wife viewed the cupcakes and saw they were not decorated she called.  VANILLA SUGAR RESPONED...WELL WE DID NOT CHARGE YOU FOR THE CUSTOM DECORATIONS SO.  We should not be upset that the order is wrong. Offered to print some stuff on wafers and stick them on the mini cupcakes at a cost of 9.00 if we drove the cupcakes back over.. ..again not what we ordered.  Never applogized and really did not seem to care.  They talk a good game when ordering...but can't deliver.  A child only graduates once from high school I would not trust them again.  By the way 3 dozen mini cupcakes will run you about 50.00 without decorations.

Vanilla Sugar Bakery is amazing! They did our wedding cake and grooms cake. For the groom's cake I had a bit of a special request. I wanted to incorporate 2 of my husbands favorite things and asked if they could create an R2D2 in a chicago blackhawks jersey. It came out so great! For not having any photos and just ideas of what i was looking for, they nailed it! The husband loved it. And the wedding cake turned out gorgeous and exactly like i described of how I wanted it. And not to mention the flavor. For someone who is not a huge cake fan, the cake was so delicious! It was moist and just delicious! They were so great to work with and will definitely be a return customer for any future sweets purchases!
