Wish that I could give this place Zero stars. Visited tonight, (a Tuesday night mind you when there was pretty much no one there) waited approximately 5 minutes to be served initially. Ordered our food and then ended up waiting for a whole hour, didn't see our waitress again. We left more than enough to cover our sodas that we had consumed and left. There are many other establishments in Forest Lake that will offer MUCH better service than Vannelli's by the Lake. On a Saturday. When it's actually busy. 
Don't even waste your time.

Serious prime rib on weekends. Good price, good service, friendly staff. Nice beer selection and good cocktails. Patio is open in nice weather.

This place seems to be really hit or miss. My wife and I have gone before and had some great food, other times we go and have some poor food. We went yesterday and the service was so horrible we had to go to the bar after waiting for over 30 min to get the check so we could leave, really wanted drink refills during that time too.

Well for starters this place has a claw machine with live lobsters. How cruel that we humans can find entertainment  in toying around with an animal before we kill it and eat it. This machine should be removed. 

Also, the food was terrible. I had a stir fried vegetable with risotto. The risotto with gummy and starchy on the outside, and undercooked and crunchy in the center, and it was also unseasoned and very bland. The be veggies we're SO EXTREMELY SALTY that I couldn't make it past a few bites. I honestly felt like I was drinking teriyaki sauce. 

Also during our visit, I asked the waitress for allergens in the rolls and the croutons, she said she would go check for me, yet never returned with any answers. 

This was for my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner. It was a huge disappointment that a place that apparently knows how to cook steak and lobster, can't even make a plate of cooked vegetables without ruining it.

They also did not offer to make a new dish or fix it in any way other than taking it off the bill.

 I won't be going back.

We went there on my husband's birthday. We sat at the bar and there was a male bartender. When he asked us to show our id cards, my husband said something like "It happens to be my birthday today." He didn't say anything or show any reaction, which was okay because it's not part of his job. But when my husband asked him if it was happy hour, he bluntly said, "You are not going to have beer if it's not happy hour?" What kind of question was that?????!!?! He totally ruined our feelings. He didn't even said sorry or looked sorry. There were other people at the bar and  he didn't say anything like that to them. It was the worst bar experience ever. We were thinking about having dinner there but went to a different place. We were so angry and asked his name to other servers. But I'm not going mention it here.
