Born & raised in Mill Valley and having gone to Vasco literally hundreds of times I've never had a worse experience at a restaurant in Marin, California or anywhere around the world than I had last Saturday at Vasco. Within 15 minutes of sitting down the waiter spilled a glass of red wine in my lap, which in itself is not the end of the world, but it's how he and the owner handled the rest of the meal which was the dagger in the heart... 1. I had to ask for napkins to soak up the puddle of wine on me and in the booth. 2. I also had to ask for another glass of wine! 3. Shortly thereafter, I had to fill my own empty water glass. 4. Not once, did the waiter ask us how our food was after he delivered the first and second courses. 5. To finish off the absolute horrible experience, the waiter had the audacity to deliver us our full price check. Not one dish comped, not the glass of wine, absolutely nothing. It was not until after I got up and left, that the owner came over and asked the person I was eating with, what he could do to right the situation? Are. You. Kidding. Me?!? The second thing the waiter/owner should have said following the accident, after apologizing (which they did), was say the meal was on the house. The fact that my dining partner had to ask them to comp the meal after delivering the bill and my departure is beyond absurd, and completely unforgivable under any circumstance. Never will I spend a dime or second of my time at this establishment. Two amazing Italian restaurants, La Ginestra & Piazza D'Angelo, are only a stone's throw away and the places we'll spend our money at from now on. You should too. Vasco should be ashamed. This experience ruined my Christmas weekend at home, was completely disrespectful and absolutely blew my mind. All from a place that I used to enjoy eating at, what a shame.

Great food. Nice local atmosphere. For Mill Valley the prices are very reasonable.

I went there with my husband, mother-in-law and her husband. The meal and the service were really good. Everyone enjoyed their meal, so extra points for me for choosing the right place for a not so often family dinner. Would definitely come back.

THIS PLACE SUCKS!! The waiter smelled of bad BO. It was loud, he was turt, he leaned in a couple times taking our order and that was it. Done. Didn't want to ask him anything else. Chicken Picatta was as if it were run over in the street and doused in turpentine, but worse. Just horrible. Loud. Expensive. Discusting place to spend anytime.

We’ve been dining here for years and have always enjoyed our meals, service, and the warm greeting of the owner and his staff. Always worth the trip down from Petaluma
