I received an hour massage from Vashon Bodyworks' new massage therapist Josh, at the end, I had wished I had reserved an hour and a half! I like quiet while I relax into my massage, Josh was professional, courteous and intuitive about my needs, which let me enjoy it thoroughly. Thank you to the awesome staff at Vashon Bodyworks!

Deja is the most in tune and knowledgeable massage therapist I've ever worked with. She has the ability to stay incredibly present and really make the session about you and what you need, instead of churning out some cookie cutter massage. She always creates a therapeutic environment that is so warm and welcoming and has the kind of personality and touch that makes it easy to relax. I haven't had a better massage. I recommend everyone I know in Seattle and Vashon to Deja- She's the best!

Last year, I was having quite a bit of tightness and pain in my jaw, as well as some tooth grinding at night. I sought out Deja's massage therapy to help relieve some of the tension, and found Vashon Bodywork to be a very comforting place for this healing. Deja had several great techniques that brought a lot of relief to my face and jaw, and I have happily mentioned her work to many friends on Vashon Island, and others who live close by.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! I just got my first massage here today. Oh my gosh, Deja Starr is the epitome of a fully integrated massage practitioner. She is what massage teachers hope their students evolve to. I personally graduated from massage school in 1992 and have had countless massages during school and in the years since, but not one has come close to being as present, as technically competent and so all encompassing. Deja "gets it" and understands how to utilize her inherent talent and professional experience to encourage the body, mind and spirit to rise to it's best. She does her work and allows the body respond. Seriously, I've recieved a lot of massage but Deja is by far the best and would undoubtedly impress her teachers. This level of massage doesn't happen by accident...its by intention. There are a lot of practitioners who "say" they do deep- tissue but go too fast to allow the muscles to melt...Deja is "tuned in". She brings a whole different level of presence & patience to what is considered the standard for professional massage nowadays. Wow! I'm certainly telling my family & friends to go see her. Deja gets five stars!
