Omg, this is a lovely theater,! We used to see black and white films at a classic theater called the Stanford, associated with Stanford university and the Vashon is every bit as beautiful inside. Don't be misled by the poky little Lobby, the seating and lighting inside the actual theater is wonderful. The legroom is terrific,  something I'm very touchy about. We saw It's a Wonderful Life, in beautiful black and white, and I'm assuming modern color films would be as impressive. Another reason to make a day trip over to Vashon, eat at one of the several restaurants in their downtown and catch a movie, and drive around the pretty island!

We love this theater and it's role in our community! And where else can you rent a whole theater for a special event? So much fun.

The best! Great projection and sound and superb, inexpensive concessions! Real butter and a vintage popcorn machine!

LOVE our little island theatre, located in a historic building in the heart of Vashon Town. The only reason I ding them one star is that there are no restrooms on the 1st/Ground floor, which makes seeing a movie difficult to impossible for folks who have mobility issues (there is no elevator to the 2nd floor, where the restrooms are located). Otherwise, the Vashon Theatre does a stellar job with providing great entertainment for residents and visitors alike. They show a wide variety of first run, arthouse, indie, documentary, and classic films. In addition, many live events are also hosted here - many which benefit non-profit organizations on the island. They also live stream opera and shakespeare from New York and London. Parents find it a great option for winter-weather birthday parties too, especially for the under 12 crowd.  Not to be missed if you plan to be here for more than a day or two!
