I come to NH to visit family a couple times a year and have had to take my dog, Alma, here twice while on vacation for two separate issues. Even though they’re not my main vet, we’ve always felt very welcome and accommodated. Both vets with whom we sought treatment, most recently Dr. Settele, as well as all the support staff have been caring, informed, and engaging with Alma. Moreover, their treatments and recommendations work. Thank you!

Super disappointed with the VCA in regards to a surgery our dog had. To begin, I find it odd that they examine the dog in a room that is separate from you, then come report on their findings. Our dog is an anxious dog at the vet, so I was not pleased when we did not have the option to go with her either time. She had a traumatic event that broke her dew claw, requiring several stitches and for her to be placed under anesthesia. That appointment was a little over $600 total. We go to the one week follow up appointment, where they remove the bandage and state that the air will do a better job healing it. They give us an ointment to apply as well as another week of antibiotics. A $70 appointment. The vet states that it could look better and it could look worse. At this time, there is fresh blood that the vet tells us is most likely the dog breaking the scab. Yesterday, we had our second follow up appointment. Again, the dog is whisked away. The vet comes back in and explains our dog is going to be tricky. She states we should come back in 4 days for a SECOND surgery because the dog's skin does not look like its healing on half of the cut. This would be another $600 surgery, as well as putting the dog at an increased risk by putting her under anesthesia 2x in a two week period. The second surgery would open the wound and expand it to be even greater as it requires her to burn off what appears to be dead skin "in hopes" of regenerating new skin. AKA she does not know if this will work. As a healthcare provider myself, I understand the use of vague terms as you cannot guarantee results, however given the course of these two weeks, I have lost all faith in this vet center. We are charged another fee to REAPPLY bandages ($46) which clearly should not have been removed in the first place. We are then given another week of antibiotics (week 3) so that is another $88 dollar appointment. It appears that we are just trying anything and hoping for the best then coming up with another plan when that does not work. This was something that should have been one and done and I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the haphazardous matter in which this was handled. Save yourself money and disappointment and go elsewhere when you need something major done.

We cannot say enough positive things about the staff. Amazing! The care and compassion that our cat (Daisy) received has been nothing but the best anyone could ever ask for. Dr. Rudnick, Kristen and everyone involved really worked with us during a very difficult time. Thank you!!! Ted and Patti

We always have a positive experience there. We have a free birds in the household, and whenever there's a problem we take them to VCA. The staff is really kind, and is easy to see that everyone there really knows what they're doing.
