Story

Although we do not sell any bikes, parts, or accessories; there is a full repair shop for students to work on their bikes. Bike technicians will be nearby to offer their assistance or do the work for you on light repairs.

VCU RamBikes is here to help you get started and to keep pedaling – for fun, for health, for efficient use of time, for competition, for your community, for the environment, and for your enjoyment.

I recently stopped by to get my brake levers installed on my bike. I was met with someone who didn't even ask how I was doing, and what I needed. I continued to tell her what the issue was, and we went to the repair station. She was very agitated by my bike, because some bolts were tough to budge and would not loosen. She then continued to cuss at my bike, complaining about the cables and what not. She really didn't look like she knew what she was doing, and almost gave up a few times because of the attitude that was growing on her. She threw things across the room. I asked her if Rambikes happened to sell bike locks, and was answered with a stark "-we don't sell anything." She got the job done, hooray, but the service I received was dreadful. I would love to come back if something were to happen to my bike, but would never if service like this continues. I am normally not one to write these kinds of things, but when you are a student and know nothing about bikes, it would have been nice to receive some educational tips and not just a sluggish modus operandi.
Again, I do not know much about bikes. It was my first bike, and was a fixer-upper. I was very excited to get it fixed, but the way this "staff member", if thats even the recognition she deserves, handled it, was totally out of proportion.

Great staff! Fixed my bike and showed me how to maintain it myself!

They are great! Fixed my bike up and gave me a u lock as well as lights for night riding!

Very bad experience, the people working here are rude and condescending. They don't help you out that much either. I was having a bad day because my tire was flat and they managed to make it even worse with their horrible customer service!
