Vermilion Yacht Club is a true boater's boat club in a peaceful and tranquil setting.  It is conveniently located to the Lake Erie Islands.  The Club was established in the 1930's and has a New England feel with stone fireplaces, nautical furnishings and nicely manicured grounds.  The scenery from all directions is natural, residential, private and beautiful.  The members here are highly sociable.  The facilities and amenities are top notch and the management is always cheerful and eager to help out.  A quick walk, bike ride or golf cart ride to downtown Vermilion offers many options for dining, shopping and entertainment.  Club members also have free access to the Lagoons Beach, which is less than a block away and is one of the largest, cleanest beaches on Lake Erie.

We stayed at the VYC for labor day weekend 2014.  Gene the club manager greeted us at the seawall when we arrived, helped us tie off , hook up power and water and got us settled.in.  Over the next.few days he went.out of.his way to help us with good places to eat, where the church was and that we could use his car if necessary.
What an accommodating  person and he helped make our stay very enjoyable. The club is lucky to have him
