The place is little more than a enlarged gas station convenience store. Most of the shelves are half empty. If you're looking for a place to actually pick up supplies for your trip this is not it

This is one of my favorite stores in the downtown area.  They have great rates for check cashing and the food is probably one of the best in quality, serving size and price. Harry and his staff will make you feel like you're one of the family with their exceptional service. I recommend this place for anyone who doesn't have a lot of time to waste and wants a good value for their money. The lunch specials and sandwiches are going to keep you coming back again and again.

Owner is very nice, and seems like a great boss. He's always there, and actually working like other employees not just sitting in the back. This is an iconic landmark in Bakersfield and it makes me happy to see it still thriving.
